Stalks In Ice

A gloriously sunny morning so we went for a proper walk - through the woods and across the fields. Lots of mud - but the cold weather had stiffened it up or frozen it solid so it wasn’t too difficult walking.

I liked these straw stalks poking up through the frozen floodwater. The sun caught them nicely and also picked out some of the texture on the surface of the ice. Nice reflections too. The ice is not too thick or opaque so you can see through to the field surface below. Looks much better in LARGE

Also found lots of ‘puddle ice sculptures’ - see one in extras.

Got to go and collect Mrs madwill later this afternoon and return all her stuff to the studio. Best start tidying up now… :-)
