Sgwarnog: In the Field

Pond

The winter pond in the park shows no signs of disappearing. It appeared during the wet autumn and keeps getting topped up. Birds are often bathing in it, but not today. Still good for reflections though.

Later I headed to evening football at Guiseley in a National League North fixture against Darlington. The Lions gave away a soft penalty inside the first few minutes but pulled level and were playing the better of the two teams. Darlington started to exert more control though and Guiseley's former captain Will Hatfield came back to haunt them, scoring a characteristic long range shot after a driving run from midfield. 1-2 it finished and Darlington leap above Guiseley in the quest for play off spots.

One bonus was walking home as the winner of the half-time 50:50 draw, so I guess the drinks are on me.
