Learning day by day

Sledging

Finally the kids got out to play in the snow, but not before C and I had walked to swimming lessons and back. Although the main roads were clear, I wasn't going to take to car off the drive if I didn't have to, our estate turns into an ice rink very quickly.

The shame about to today, was that we were supposed to be visiting friends near Newark, but with the forecast for snow showers on and off all day, we decided to postpone. To be fair I was more worried about slush freezing and us having a very slippy journey home this evening than driving in the snow during daylight.

So the kids sledged, W coming off more times than I can count, but laughing hysterically every time. He looked a bit like Tiger in Kipper's Snowy Day by the end. After a while Mummy's fingers were hurting too much, dspite two pairs of gloves, so we went back into the garden where the kids and Daddy made a snow weeble man and had a little more fun.

Nice hot bath when they came in, chilling now in Pj's watching a little bit of Cbeebies before tea. More snow forecast for tomorrow pm/evening here tomorrow. Snowday on Monday? For C I doubt it but maybe for the boychild as many of the pre-school staff have primary age kids and if their kid's schools are shut they won't be able to work.
