Southbank face

Didn't have a great sleep last night - and neither did Mum, unfortunately - but we had a good day anyway.  Got out of the hotel by lunchtime, and had a little walk over to the shops for a sandwich, which we ate in the car before setting off.

Drove into central London, and round all the sights - Trafalgar Square (three times!), Westminster Bridge (twice) and Waterloo Bridge (also twice - we may have made a couple of wrong turns, but we did get some good views on the way!)

We then parked up behind the Royal Festival Hall, and had a wander along the Southbank.  The light was so beautiful!  Lots to see, too - not only was this man sculpting a very impressive face in the sand, there was also someone spinning fire and being filmed, and a wedding shoot on the foreshore, too.

We stopped for a coffee in Eat before getting back in the car and driving back to our hotel.  Had a nice relaxing evening - I popped out and picked us up some Lebanese falafel and halloumi wraps for dinner, and we watched a strangely soothing programme of a journey through New Zealand on BBC 4 (no commentary, just beautiful scenery and occasional facts popping up on the screen).
