a lifetime burning

Coffee time ...

The sun rises after ten here, and by the time it clears the hill its definitely coffee time.  We've given up getting up as early as at home, after all as long as we are ready to travel once its light there is no need for an earlier start when you are on holiday.  In the extra, you can see the view from the front of the cabin, and in the main you see the view from our bedroom window seconds later.  Baby its cold out there.

As you can see, it snowed again last night.  When the sun went down yesterday there was very little snow left after the rain.  Today it was several degrees below freezing first thing and the 50mph winds added a chill factor that meant taking care when going out.  Driving was fun, its been snowing off and on and we've been very careful on the roads.

I managed to loose a lens cap when visiting an extinct volcano this morning. I dropped it, it bounced, the wind took it and that was that :-(

After a visit to the seaside(!) - well to the coast, we spent a good hour in the nearest public swimming pool at the end of the afternoon. It was -1C and there were some snow flurries, but swimming outdoors in geothermal heated water is a delight.

The wind is due to drop tomorrow, (thank goodness), so we may be able to do a bit more sight seeing.
