Hobbs's Run

Pentax S1a

I have these antique film cameras decorating my study. The Asahi Pentax S1a SLR was a pretty desirable camera back in the early 1960s. Fairly primitive by today's standards, there's lots about it which take me back to the best things about cameras of the era .... rock solidity being one of them.

Legend has it that one day the Beatles wandered into a camera store whilst on tour and (impulsely) bought four of them (one each). Actually I have just gotten home late at night and am blipless. I figured this fine piece could be my EB.
