Abstract Thursday - A Changing Landscape

Nothing stays the same forever. Mountains are washed away by wind and rain. Pebbles and boulders and shells become sand in the endless restless surge of the tide, and back in 1707 this island became Great Britain...

In 1973 we became even more; a part of the European community. Tomorrow we leave the Union, and time will tell how much longer Great Britain and the United Kingdom will remain intact. Everything changes.

It still bewilders me that we have, despite all the delays, Got Brexit Dun. Over the next ten months or so there will be much done behind closed doors, to try and minimise the damage, but it's hard to see good news.

In the extra is more changing landscape; this time the loss of the last green space of any significance in the village. Other developments are being discussed, to girdle the village in even more and more housing.

It's been a dark, grey and miserably wet winter, with only a few mitigating blue sky days - like yesterday - to add some colour. Imbolc is upon us and the new growth of spring is pushing through regardless. Happiness!
