I only come here for the view

Finally managed to get in to see a doctor... and was struck by the beauty of my location.

First, good news, all colon tests came back negative. It almost makes the invasiveness of a colonoscopy worthwhile.

Second, query: why do North Americans insist of pronouncing Colin like colon. Are there any colon specialists called Colin? Do they resent this?  Where I come from, Colin is pronounced to rhyme with... erm, well nothing - but the "o" is short, as in "gollum". I know there is only one "l" in Colin, but it is from the Gaelic Cuilen, Cailean, (modern Irish spelling Coileáin) - so like Robin, has a short vowel....

All very confusing.
