Walking back to the car

A lovely morning. William, Basil and I returned to Kirby Muxloe Castle to discover that vandals had driven a van on to the site, churning up the ground around the moat and disturbing the foundations. They'd also abandoned a knife and a machete which the local caretaker had discovered while walking around.

We'd seen the van being taken away on a tow truck.

We walked up the bridge to the door of the castle but as we needed to get to Mummy Meet, we didn't stay long. As you can see, William has taken charge of walking Basil to and from the car. I'm not sure Basil is totally impressed.

The kids really liked the vinyl blackboard on which they can draw, rub out what they've drawn and draw again. Later, a hilarious session in which Bobby and Lilah were chasing each other. Will joined in on his trike. See extra. The trike fell apart and Grandad had to fix it when we got home.

Shouts of glee and delight when I took William outside for a bubbles session in the afternoon.
