Another day, another stone circle...the morning dawned bright and sunny so D suggested a trip out to Easthill, near Lochfoot, where there is a stone circle known as the 7 Grey Stanes.

This circle is a little harder to find than yesterday's, but well worth the effort, if only for the panoramic views over the surrounding countryside. It also has a lovely ambience - the circle is surrounded by old gnarled hawthorn trees and small lumpy hills forming a kind of natural amphitheatre. I also spotted two foxes (luckily Jess was looking the other way).

This photo was taken while D was waiting on the hill for the sun to come out for a photo. The extra shows the circle itself.
