Pavilion in the Queen Mother's Memorial Garden

My friend Kate, who is currently undergoing cancer treatment, felt well enough to meet me this morning for a walk around the Royal Botanic Garden. We saw a very bold heron in the pond, completely unperturbed by all the visitors keen to photograph him, and this lovely lighting in the pavilion in the Queen Mother's Memorial Garden.

Also today, I blogged (in the hope that we can spread the news far and wide of the fully-funded PhD studentship that we have just advertised) and made three varieties of soup to restock our freezer: cauliflower; pea and ham; tomato and lentil.

Exercise today: walking (10,504 steps); 1 hour on the exercise bike.
