Wanderings & Witterings

Twechar

Tuesday's Ramblers walk was a very pleasant affair. Meeting at Auchinstarry Marina, we walked up the Roman Military Road onto Castle Hill, the site of an iron-age fort, and then visited the remains of the Roman fort at Bar Hill before joining the Forth and Clyde Canal at Twechar and following that back to our start-point.

The weather was wonderful - hard to believe it is the first week in February - and we had some great views across to the Kilsyth Hills, which still had a dusting of snow on some of the summits, and down the Kelvin Valley. My Blip was taken looking north-west as we descended from Bar Hill into Twechar.
