plus ça change

If not exactly an emergency blip, then a blip for when time and ideas are short. I am not really a hoarder, but when someone blipped a part of their stamp collection the other day it caused me to look out my own, from those heady years when such things occupied a lads spare time.

Having found the old stamp book (and the piles of un-mounted stamps), I came across ye olde piggie bank, far too small for this lot, and thence to the lot itself - in a large tin coffee jar, all the odds and sods from over the years. If you're at all interested in numismatics it's possible worth going large.

See what you can find. It's Where's Wally for the pocket money generation! Somewhere in here are half crowns from the year I was born, a clearly fake two bob bit, pesetas, francs, cents, centimes and schillings... and one that looks like it might have been a commemorative 50p, if such a thing was possible.

The more things change, the more they stay the same.
