Tribute to Mr Imperial Highness, Doughnut.

Doughnut began to come here from next door and when our cat Tiger died in late 2018.
He and Tiger tolerated each other in each other’s adjacent gardens.
His owners being out at work all day he began to come to the back door at breakfast regularly.
That graduated to sitting on our settee, and snuggling up to me. We did not feed him and let them know he had started to come inside. But we put him out when they got home.
Sometimes he went under protest.
I had missed him for the past couple of weeks and had to go round yesterday to see them about having a conifer lopped. It had grown too tall and was on their boundary.
I asked about Doughnut, and his owner told me he had sadly developed heart trouble and they had had to take him to the local vet’s
I am so pleased that for a year he made himself comfortable here and warm when it was wet and cold outside.
Like he knew we also needed the comfort after losing Tiger, who was 16 years old.
On another note, Stephen is doing well, and now able to eat solid food.
He may possibly be home midweek. The Critical Care Nurse talked about that with us both today. Photo of Doughnut in extra.
