Ham Radio Flea Market

In the world of ham radio, it is a thing where we gather in some community hall and some of our number will rent a table and put their excess electronic bits and pieces on display for others to buy.

My suspicion is that some purchase the used items and pieces of assorted ephemera, take them home for the year, and the next year they rent a table and sell it to the next bunch.

But that’s only a suspicion.

I found a treasure or two that I have been looking for and needing, at very affordable prices. So I got them.

Actually it’s more of a gathering place to catch up with old friends who you’ve talked with on the radio over the years. Or it’s a place to make new friends and finally put faces to the voices you’ve heard over the ether through the long winter.

Either way, it’s about the relationships much more than it ever was about the radio junk we collect.

And it’s a fun day out.
