a lifetime burning

Wet, windy, largely deserted

On a typical Sunday you can't move in front of Bath Abbey for the tourists and buskers that normally throng this area.  Today, with storm Ciara upon us Bath is largely deserted.

I took this shot during a break between showers, some of which have been truly epic.  At one stage earlier it almost seemed as though we were under water, from the amount of rain all falling at once.  Sensibly everyone immediately sought shelter.  Umbrellas and ordinary waterproof gear wouldn't cut it. Add in the wind, which brings the rain in almost horizontally at time and, short of some sort of serious sub-aqua dry-suit, you are going to get very, very wet.
