Cante Alentejano

Church this morning ended with the young folk singing an ode to Our Lady in Cante Alentejano, always gives me goosebumps, especially when everyone joins in. Extra of them singing on the steps of the church.

We then went down the hill to the Adega, following the advice of the three who came to lunch yesterday. A small lad, Antonio, was there, ably leading some of the songs. Loved how the men matter of factly included him, reminded us of Jesus in the Temple at age twelve.

Here is the Unesco entry on Cante, worth reading and watching the video.

Now off for a walk on the other side and then dinner at Sem Fim.

Gratefuls:
- again, for these young folk, bringing life to Mourão this week
- a good chat with Maria Jesus, and that she's in less pain, thanks to a doctor in Badajoz
- seeing my first rock rose this Spring
