Liquid Silver

It isn't only rainbows offer hope;
there's scope in sky and clouds
to rouse the spirit,
lift the mood, as here:
clear beams of sunlight
pouring liquid silver into pools,
to soothe the eye and beautify
the pewter sea.

Up early and at the health centre before nine this morning for my blood test. Drank three cups of weak black Earl Grey and continued sipping from a bottle of apple and elderflower that I took with me to make sure I was well hydrated. It paid off. The nurse succeeded at first stab, painlessly filling two phials within seconds.

Went for a walk as soon as we got back to our village to have exercise and fresh air under our belts ahead of Storm Dingbat's arrival. The wind is already beginning to gain strength and wuther around our walls. A good decision!

The sun struggled through the cloud throwing crepuscuar rays (sunbeams) on to the sea to drop pools of silver: a lovely sight before the sun was totally strangled in thick cloud. Not raining yet, but it can't be far off.  The black dots on the photo are actually gulls in flight, not dirty marks on my camera lens! :-)

Keep warm and safe over the weekend, blipmates!
