A text from Virgin Atlantic was received early this morning by one of our party, his 13.30 flight was cancelled and he was rebooked on a later flight at 02.20. The rest of us received no notifications at all. The tour guide negotiated a couple of extra hours in the hotel, and we arrived at the airport at 13.45 ish.

We quickly found that we couldn't go through to departures until 21.30, and because we didn't have a ticket we couldn't go through the gates to get into arrivals either, where food and drink and toilets were located.

Eventually we all managed to download the VA app and sign into our accounts, whereupon we were allowed into arrivals. 

So here we are, fed and watered but tired, with only 8+ hours to go before we take off.
