Stepping Out

Have come down to the Algarve a day early to collect our son tomorrow (hopefully, storms permitting) from Faro. Staying in Tavira, which is one of my favourites on the coast, in a lovely old-fashioned place right on the main square. 

Watched this egret for ages from the Roman bridge, which we can see from our window. Liked how you can see the window from the building on the other side as well.

Gratefuls:
- getting admin stuff done before we left, that I've been putting off
- being able to come away, both of us feeling a bit wrecked and achy
- that Paul's sermon, including Mike's Youtube cameo as the Philippian jailer, went well this morning at our church in Sutton

And a very happy birthday to my youngest brother, whose birth in our home in Maués, Amazonas, Brazil, I can remember clearly! I was twelve.
