Velvet

Cute, fluffy, a bit wet with the rain, sporting his tiny new antlers in velvet this roe deer stag was a delight to see first thing this morning in the garden. Head on like this he reminds me of a koala bear with his lovely black nose!

Strangely not so far apart with me wondering if he was going to flee any second, I squatted to get a low shot over the water on our flooded terrace in my gym kit trying to make myself inconspicuous with a long lens.
