The Dennis quiff

Off to Haslemere today to have lunch with a couple of friends and very nice it was too!  So you can imagine my delight when - rather pushed for time - I found the heron waiting for me on my morning scamper round the reserve.  Such a handsome bird, and I loved the quiff the wind gave him.

Mostly the day has been beautiful, if a bit windy, but on the way home we drove through a couple of cloudbursts which turned the A272 into a reservoir for water barrelling off the hills.  In the end I was quite glad to get home.
