A treasured keepsake

This duck belonged to my lovely mum-in-law who died in September 2010 aged 89 (weirdly my own mum had died in February of the same year). It stood on her mantelpiece and I always liked it! She got it from the glass factory in Murano, Venice. Having never been abroad until her late 50's (when she gained freedom from all her ties) she then travelled to various places including Italy, Yugoslavia and the Greek islands. She was always very observant and interested in everything, so new experiences were great for her.

I love the different shades of glass in the duck, also the curvy shape and the way it reflects surrounding objects.
