Frogspawn

Despite the howling of the wind and the horizontal rain of storm [think of the next name in sequence], it is spring out there. The snowdrops are giving way to daffodils and the frogs are having a fantastic time.

Problem is, their athletic fecundity too often turns into a tasty snack for the prowling koi and goldfish who believe, perhaps rightly, that the pond is theirs and that frogspawn is fair game. We do get surviving generations (of course) but many of the tadpoles are morsels rather than more souls.

Last year I replaced the Belfast sink in the kitchen, which was too deep for convenient use, with a larger but more shallow ceramic sink. The old Belfast still rests in the back garden waiting to be reused, and so it shall be.

As a tadpole nursery. watch this space.
