Macon

Daybreak in Ponta do Ouro ushered in some windy and stormy weather, although the scene from the deck where we were staying remained wild and lovely.

At breakfast we had a debate over bacon vs macon (apparently this is bacon made from beef) and even though I was shovelling some down inside an omelette at that very moment, I wasn’t able to notice the difference. A basic palate is helpful as it saves much energy that would otherwise be spent griping about quality, taste and cost.

The weather must have affected the electricity grid as our plan to hole ourselves up watching movies on the sofa all afternoon was scuppered. We loafed for a period and then drove back to Maputo.
