Holy, holy, h . . . . . !

Not a bad day today - sunshine as I write at 4.30, but the odd light shower too. Visit to the gym this morning - I'm surprised how many friends and acquaintances turn up from time to time! It's like being in Tesco's!

Various visits to make around the town this afternoon. I went to see the manager of the recently opened MKM building supplies (extra), who had agreed to sponsor us at Keep Oban Beautiful by paying for some litter-pickers.  We already have several of a very good model bought for us two years ago by the MacQueen Bros. Charitable Trust tho' they are quite expensive @ £27 each, or £21 each for ten or more. MKM offered to buy us eight of them and to give us Hi-viz jackets, tee-shirts, gloves and rubble bags, which are just strong plastic bags. It was good to be handed a wadge of notes! I must remember what they're for!

I called in at two other suppliers and they both said they would check with their managers and let me know! They both seem keen to be involved with our Oban Spring Clean - in return for some publicity, of course!

On the way back the sun came out and lit up the buildings against a dark sky. I had to stop quickly in Lidl's car park and as there was a very lucky break in the traffic, stood in the middle of the road to photograph these two churches. The nearer is the Kilmore and Oban Parish Church (Church of Scotland), behind which you can see the huge rock which dominates the centre of Oban and on which are the ruins of the never completed Hydropathic Hotel. The further away one is the Free Church of Scotland, up the hill on Rockfield Road.

Now I must go outside to have a poke about in the plant crates while the sun is shining!
