a lifetime burning

Perfectly framed in red

This shot was take at Bristol's festival of light this evening.  Even with a tripod it was surprisingly difficult to get decent shots.  In part because of the sheer numbers of people visiting the exhibits, and in part because light sculptures which change colour or move are intrinsically going to be difficult to photograph. Its also been quite windy and cold this evening, but fortunately dry.

In this installation, a row of hanging frames light up in a wave running from left to right.  I've settled for a long enough exposure for them all to be clearly lit, but that has meant that some of them are blurred as the move in the wind or are moved by the public.  In a perfect world the air could have been still and the reflection would have added more interest ;-)

I've added a few extras from the evening in case you're interested.
