a lifetime burning

Private Fishing

Derelict Sunday: Private Fishing

As you can see, after the wettest February on record the local rivers are running in full flood.  The river bank is normally a little beyond the Private Fishing sign. In this case the trees have been operating as trawl nets for all the detritus brought downstream.  The water has been higher, as you can clearly see.

Dad's been in the residential care home for a week now, and is gradually becoming more acclimatised to it, although "resigned" is probably the adjective that I would use.  He's finding his way about now with a degree of confidence.  Unfortunately he's managed to lock himself in the loo twice today and had to be rescued on both occasions.  The nursing staff keep trying to get him not to lock the door, but that's not an easy adjustment for anyone to make after a lifetime of doing exactly that.  Poor Dad.
