32 years ago, Len, Rosie and I were staying in Sri Lanka, where Len was working on a UN Habitat project. Rosie and I would spend the mornings at Colombo swimming club alarming me because she'd spend most of her time under the water rather than on top of it.

Sometimes we went to eat lunch at the Oberoi Lanka hotel, now the Grand Cinnamon. Prices look amazingly reasonable given that it's a 5 *. I saw this batik on the wall and bought it. Prices were a bit more unaffordable for us in 1988.

Because I've been confined to bed again today, I took some phone shots of the hanging and have played around with them in Snapseed for today's blip.

Start of Spring? I don't think so.
