Spring and snow

I've never understood this but the meteorological Spring supposedly starts on March 1st, while the official (atronomical) start of Spring is on the 20st of March ...
In any case winter is almost over and so far we haven't really had a winter, just one very light covering of mainly wet snow overnight last week. These pretty teeny weeny flowers (they're not bigger than pin heads) are the flowers of the Spirea shrub called First Snow Spirea because the flowers in full bloom look and fall off like snow flakes. They're on a branch in the latest white and green bouquet.

Speaking of a new month, this coming Thursday is the first one of March and as usual there's no theme for Abstract Thursday. Just post whatever kind of abstract you want :-) The tag will be AT245.

Thanks so much for all entries for last week's challenge, very many on the optional theme 'mundane'. here's the list of results:

Skeena              mundane and very spiky cactus abstract
Technophobe   a wordly abstract
tweedy               a contemporary rural abstract
ajperno               an abstract with sole
PicLocata           a different view on a wheely bin

Thanks so much for the kind comments and stars for yesterday's shell, and your best wishes for my back pain. It's definitely only a pulled muscle, feeling a bit better today.
