The Edge of the Wold

From the pier

A day with hardly any rain combined with neap tides means there's much less water in the estuary than yesterday.  The light on the drying mudflats was different, more of a concerto in drab brown than yesterday's symphony in silver. But at least there were a few black-headed gulls showing themselves for the camera, and in this duller light fewer sensor spots to clean off the image.

We came back from our second lunch at Yew Tree Barn in 3 days, this time meeting with Kathy and Howard for a catch-up. These days Gus stays at home for a longer sleep in the warmth of the house, and he was the better for a good rest when he went for his afternoon walk.
