Catkin or Lamb's tail!

7°C  -  Feels like 5°C  -  9 mph WSW Wind Speed  -  11 mph Gusts  -  Sunny.  "Catkin is derived from the Dutch word katteken, which means kitten, since the flowers look like fluffy kitten tails.  They’re also known as lamb’s tails for the same reason, and this name has a stronger association with the onset of spring".

Personally, I have always called them Lamb's Tails, because that's what they look like to me!  They are actually the male part of the tree which pollenates the female flower on the tree.  You can see we have lovely blue skies today  -  hope the last over the weekend:)  3.30 pm  -  I'm pleased to say one of my baby Rabbits has just made an appearance  -  blipped eating Cowslip leaves just outside the kitchen window!  Now added as an Extra.
