The very rare two headed Canada goose

Much aggressive mating displays going on amongst the Canada geese down on Mote Park lake. Lots of neck stretching, tongue pointing and strangulated sorts of honking going on as the males pursued the females. Spats between males too with frenzied flapping of wings and loud raucous honks as they vied for the females. The genteel, serene females seemed to be unperturbed by all this showing off, paddling purposefully but without fuss away from the males. Great to watch. See extra for the tongue!

We pruned our ancient apple tree this afternoon, it lost many limbs but inflicted its revenge when I was caught on the forehead by a falling branch. Makes me look as if I've been hit by a solid punch.
