The Big Golden Dog

Fire!

Or perhaps that should be - Wire! - because it's actually burning wire wool. Wire wool stuffed into a hand whisk, then whisk attatched to end of chain, then chain spun round with wool on fire! There was a fire extinguisher at hand, but we didn't need it. This was with melamny at the local camera club's light painting outing this evening, at an underpass under the A1. The wire wool ricocheted off the sides of the tunnel, giving a very dramatic effect! It was absolutely freezing; I could hardly press the shutter button by the end!

There was also various fun had with... I don't know what you call them... light sticks. Like 5' tall sticks that light up all the way along. The first extra was someone waving one of these things that looked like massive light sabers around, on a really long exposure. The second one was camera lesson this afternoon, which I'll tell you about in a minute, which was melamny's prism sitting on her desk, with a torch held over it. Third extra is melamny herself posing for a long exposure photo, where someone else held a light stick that changed colour, and walked along behind her. Last extra was someone waving a light stick that had little individual bulbs along it.

Camera lesson this afternoon at melamny's. I took the doggy doors for her daughter to play with. She was a bit sleepy at first after her nap (so cute and cuddly!), so Grandma enjoyed playing with them instead, but then she got more interested. All in all, a very successful DIY project. Grandma also brought a book cover to show me which had some embroidery (printed) on it, done by Chole Giordano - so amazing! And I made some (albeit slightly burnt, oops!) lemon and almond biscuits, which seemed to go down very well. Oh, and I did do some learning about photography as well.

The rest of the day wasn't nearly so interesting - just history and english literature.
