All along the beach

4.8C with bright spells in the morning and thin cloud in the afternoon.

Very calm and still today. Maeve the Deerhound and I went out after lunch for our walk. No coat required for Maeve today. What little snow was left was soft and melting. I decided the field and the bridle path would be muddy so it was straight down the road to the shore. Once we were on the beach I turned left for a change and walked along towards Easthaven. There is a sandy area not far along that goes out amongst the rocks and enables us to get out nearer to the sea when the tide is out.

Since the sun was effectively screened by the layer of cloud I was able to turn towards Westhaven and get this shot along the beach. From right to left you can see the little dunes, then the cottages at Westhaven, then across Carnoustie's small bay (out of shot) to the Championship golf course and the Army firing ranges at Barry Buddon. For anyone who wants to go large you can find the Fishermen's huts and the creel rack just beneath the church spire.

We walked along the beach to the huts passing two people and one dog along the way. Plenty of damp firm sand to walk along. There was a gathering of men outside one of the huts. Smoke was coming from the chimney of the hut. A hot stove, tea, and an afternoon of blethering perhaps :-)
