Cemetery tidy up

Today I joined the village cemetery tidy up volunteers to get it looking neater before Mothering Sunday and Easter. We cleared old Christmas wreathes and flowers, cleared leaves and fallen branches etc. We had coffee and a doughnut half way through which was very welcome.

Considering that there were only five of us we made quite a difference. The photo is of the new part of the cemetery (we didn’t have anything to do there) where we had a bonfire of the burnable rubbish.

One of the volunteers is something to do with the registration service and she said that they’re training new people to register deaths as they’re expecting a lot. It’s a very chilling thought.
