Funeral Flowers

Thanks so much to everyone for their support following my Mum-in-Law's death last month, and especially for the lovely good wishes which you sent yesterday regarding today's funeral.

As you can imagine, we were concerned about whether the funeral could go ahead in view of the Coronavirus situation but happily it was possible in the end and, although some folk very reasonably stayed away, many people took the risk of coming for the service and gave her a good send-off. All three of our lads were determined to come and all took part either in the eulogy or with readings - they all dearly loved their Granny.

We'd hoped that the gorgeous flowers from the coffin could go to the local hospice in Macclesfield: although Mum-in-Law didn't need to go there (she got such good "hospice-at-home" care in her care home in her final illness) it was one of her favourite charities. However the hospice is apparently in Coronavirus lockdown so the flowers had to be left at the crematorium. The only chance I had to get a photo of them was on the ground there, but I wanted to blip them as a permanent record in my journal. They look even more lovely viewed large.

We're all now safely home again, ready to isolate ourselves to an extent anyway!
