St Mary’s Church, Wooler

A prearranged trip over the border today to see Mum and my siblings which I opted not to back out of as goodness knows when I’ll see them again! Mum is in the high risk group due to age and health concerns so being the eldest daughter it landed on me to insist she went into and stays in isolation until she’s told otherwise! It was a very hard goodbye.

My only photo today is of the parish church which stands in the market place...built in the 18th century to replace one from the 12th century. It is built from Doddington stone from a local quarry...the little village now being more famous for its cheeses and ice cream. Luckily we lived uphill from here as many a morning my brother and I had to race down the hill as the clock was striking 8 to catch the school bus...somehow we never actually missed it but there were a few close calls!

Thanks to Steveng for hosting Wide Wednesday this week.
