Coronavirus queue

Mr hazelh and I took a short shopping list up the road this morning. Apart from those offering takeaway items, all the cafés, pubs and restaurants on Broughton Street were closed, with apologetic notices posted to their doors. My blip shows the scene outside the wholefood shop. Here the marshal on the door was ushering in the shoppers at safe intervals.

Apart from this short walk out, our day has been spent indoors. I've made a long list of non-work activities for this early period of social isolation. These are classified as 'household', 'online', 'contact (by phone/Skype or similar)', and 'fun'. The next step is to slot these activities into a sensible routine.

Over the course of the day we've joined in many phone calls and exchanges on social media. One phone conversation has persuaded us that we need to be very strict about our forays out to the shops. From now on we're going to keep these to the absolute minimum. Only one of us will make each trip, and this will always be at a quiet time of day.

Has anyone else noticed that John Lewis will be closed from Monday afternoon? I can't believe that it has come to this. Our corner shop will be gone!

Exercise today: sit-ups, weights and stretches; 1 hour on the exercise bike.
