Bleak

My car has not moved since it snowed and today when it was needed it would not start, not surprising, like me she is an old lady and needs to be cossetted. She does have a problem in very cold weather as the diesel drains down, or so Mr A says. He came to our rescue and charged the battery for short while and then she started first time.

It was still minus ten degrees Celsius, but I went to collect our daughter and we went to Bishop's Stortford, mainly to get her new spectacles; she does not want anyone to know, so do not tell anyone, but she had to have Varifocals!! We did a little shopping and then came home to have hot chocolate and marshmallows.

The temperature if hovering just above freezing, but it feels much colder due to the wind chill factor. I went into the garden in search of some snowdrops; they are still buried under four inches of snow. In the end I decided on this picture taken from part way down the orchard and looking up the garden, the pond is still frozen and hopefully this picture shows how bleak it really is.
