A Juvenile?

The coloring on this Northern Flicker makes me think it is a Juvenile. It flew in with a more colorful Flicker, but the bigger one didn't stay for me to get my camera ready.

It was a rainy day......with some sun....I got out to do a little yard work, but not much else.

We did our first facetime with little Ellie today. I couldn't get a word in edgewise, she was talking a mile a minute about some fantasy story she was acting out with her stuffed animals. Then she stopped and talked to us about her life lately.....it was so fun!
