Nesting

Thank you so much for the comments, hearts and stars on my yesterday. Juno was proud to be the subject of a blip-day and I'm so happy to be a part of the blip community.

Just behind the blossom in the foreground there's a patch of light brown fuzz – that's fur I've brushed off Juno. It's been up there for a few days but today was the first time I've seen goldfinches and blue tits stuffing their beaks with predator fur. Those nests will be cosy. I'm hoping this doesn't confuse the baby birds and that they don't land on the cat in a month or so thinking he's a safe surface.

It was a busy day in the home office. I rang the IT guys first thing and a lovely chap talked me through getting on the VPN so he could access my screen and do what was necessary to get me on the WiFi. When Juno miaowed a greeting, we got on to the subject of cats. He has two and he's also working from home. He described an incident from the other day when he was on a call and one of his cats brought in a live bird. He had to leave the call so he could rescue the poor thing. The perils of working from home.

It is great to be able to separate my contract work from my freelance work – they're now on different computers. Yay! It's also lovely to have the big screen to view all the pages that are being sent through.

I had a few hangouts with work colleagues and a fun lunchtime one with a Feastie friend. We managed to blether for a whole hour. I like having virtual cups of tea.

In the evening, I enjoyed joining in the Virtual Pub Quiz hosted by a fellow who is a quiz master and wanted to host a small quiz online for his friends. He got, I think, about 110,000 people joining in, which would have broken the Guinness World Record for an online quiz night if there had been an official taking note. I thoroughly enjoyed it and it was challenging – I scored 21/50. Oh dear. There is room for improvement. Mum got 18/50. I'm looking forward to the next one – he's going to host a quiz every Thursday night and he putting up a shorter specialist quiz on Monday. I'll give that a go, too.
