Olfactive pleasures: still life

Hermès, Fragonard
Four, seven and eleven
Dior and Lancôme

The French certainly know how to make perfume and I do love them all from the simplest, like Eau de Cologne, to the most sophisticated that makes me feel like a million dollars!

I appreciate these enchanting alchemy of combinations created by masters of perfumery.

About four years' ago, I caught a very mild form of flu which gave me very unpleasant side effects like: total loss of smell and taste and deafness. The ear, nose and throat specialist told me that these things often returned to normal, but sometimes they were deformed forever and only time will tell.

Over a period of six months, my taste slowly returned and I feel it's almost 100% now. The same with my sense of smell, though some things are slightly deformed. My sense of hearing has suffered the most and one ear lost 48%, the other one less. So I am thankful and you will understand if I go a little crazy about revelling in my perfumes so much - they remind me how lucky I am!

My daughter sent me a very informative link on the Coronavirus and the up-to-date figures for each country. Here:https://www.worldometers.info/coronavirus/

Switzerland, was pretty high up on the list after Italy and Spain, but I am happy to report that we have moved down to 9th place with the least number of deaths in the top 11 countries. I feel sure that it is to do with people obeying stringent lockdown and staying at home to stop the virus spreading. The health service here is also excellent.

PLEASE STAY AT HOME!  Not only for yourselves, but for all the other people too.
