Not an April Fool

Not a pretty picture, I found this poor frog floating on top of the pond this morning, it looked as though it had drowned...is that possible?  It is the third one I have found recently, the other two were upturned, dried, emaciated bodies on the path, see extra, not nice.  I have no idea what is happening, does anyone know.?
A cold, grey, miserable day, and I am a bit down.  These things happen, I will bounce back, good days, bad days, inevitable really....let's hope the sunshine soon returns :)
