Chimney field ..

.. again but from the other side.
A lovely start to the day but we didn’t get out until later. Chris wanted to defrost the freezer in the garage before it got warm - we’ve had all week! - first.
It took a lot longer than we expected but good to get things sorted and see just what we’ve got.
A full drawer of fish, one of vegetables, and one of tomatoes (last years crop for making soup and sauces) and fruit (rhubarb, apple slices and red currants).  Meat in the next to top quick freeze shelf and leftover stews and casseroles etc but not a lot in the chicken drawer. That drawer is filled up with at least half a dozen home made soups but chicken will be on the shopping list. I think our last visit to M&S found the chicken shelves pretty empty.  At the very top just a few ready made sweets and ice cream. A few bread products in the bottom drawer including gluten free for when Eda and the family get to come again.
So we’re looking good. We’d found a pizza and a few other things that we decided to take up to our son’s at the top of the village at the start of our walk. Had a nice chat with him from the pavement before walking towards Cullingworth.
Took another nosy at the development at the derelict house from the path just below the moor. Interesting to see it being transformed after all these years, then down Dolphin Lane and across to the fields above Goit Stock woods which brought us here to the Chimney Field.
Thought it would be fun to place me on the path in the approximate position of the lady walking in my 1913 painting.

You can see the chimney up to the left. The mill of course was below to the right as seen in the painting. Until recently, through out my lifetime, the site has been a caravan park but in recent years it has been developed for Park Homes with sites still  being cleared for more.
A good walk, met one or two people we know but not many and of course we kept our distance.
Ready for our lunch when we got home at 2.00 pm!
Found some chorizo in the freezer and got out some prawns with chilli and coriander that will go together to make something tasty for tea.

If we get the predicted warm weather tomorrow in the UK enjoy it safely everybody.
