Peacock Butterfly

A bit of a lazy start to the day but so what - it's Sunday and we are on lock-down!

After we'd had breakfast and got ready we set out to get from Tesco what I had not wished to fight my way round Morrison's for yesterday - Easter gifts for Jeri and family too!

So we didn't have to venture out again, Brian did his security check on his work property and then we went for a walk round Greetwell Hollow since we were up that way anyway. As expected it was virtually deserted.

The air feels fresh and "seasidey" - maybe because there is less pollution now, with fewer cars on the road and less planes in the sky. We had a good walk around and took photos. My favourite of mine was this one of a peacock butterfly sunning itself on a path as we were leaving, but I've included an extra of part of the quarry too! I'd love to live up there, with the view they have!

This afternoon I got a Facebook Messenger video call from Jeri - good to "see" and speak to her and the family! She said that she reckons we could be on tighter lock-down next week, especially if the weather is good. A four day "special" Easter weekend may prove too tempting for some to resist gadding about more than they should! I agree - I think it's likely too!

Some will welcome the tighter restrictions, as they don't think we should be having that hour for exercise at all! Some people obviously do abuse the privilege and gather in groups - especially younger ones who must miss seeing their friends. It will be a shame to lose it for those of us who do stick within social distancing guidelines though... especially those of us who have no proper outdoor space at home.

I am making a home-made doner kebab for tea - just baked lamb mince with spices! Dead easy to make, but it takes a while to cook. Obviously it's not a true "kebab" as no skewers are involved, so it's probably more like meatloaf!!
