Graver Arboretum ....

.... Garter Snake.

For our walk/exercise (which is still permitted) today we tried to think of someplace that wouldn't be as crowded as Jacobsburg or the Plainfield rail trail have been lately.  We are trying to adhere to social distancing as much as possible but still get some exercise and fresh air.

And Richard came up with great suggestion ... Graver Arboretum.  We went up there shortly after lunch.  When we got there we were a little surprised to see a few cars in the parking lot .... this arboretum is not that well known.

We started our walk in the opposite direction as another family that had arrived shortly before us.  We did encounter a few people on our walk but were still able to maintain our distance.

Along the paths at the arboretum are lots of stone piles and stone fences.  As were passing a pile of stones I spotted this beautiful garter snake enjoying the warm sun.  You have to wonder how many people miss seeing this snake as they walk by.  Blipfoto certainly has changed the way I see the world.  It's opened my eyes.
