Virginia creeper

I think that my journal features a Virginia creeper blip every autumn. It reminds me of autumn walks with Mum when I lived in Christchurch.

She loved the colours and Virginia was a frequent creeper where I used to live. Here I only know of one instance and its a beauty.

It wasn't a day to wear shorts. Goodness knows why I persevered.

After work I phoned Mum's best friend Valda. What a wonderful woman. She described to me lockdown she experienced as a little girl when polio was rife.

This isn't the first time and it won't be the last. We can and will get through it.

Today's gratitude: For the gift of friends.
