Sunrise at the Signal Station

A beautiful morning early on the beach.
Peaceful and tranquil.
I'm putting another image in Extras - it was a toss-up which one to Blip.

I'd expected that the beach would be really busy this afternoon but there were hardly any people or dogs in sight. Maybe the Police were turning them back at Ferrymead. We were all told in no uncertain terms that we were to stay at home today, and only exercise in our own neighbourhood. The Police were busy at some spots around the country telling people to go back to wherever they came from; their excuse for being out of the road wasn't good enough.

We've had our 2nd death today, due to Covid-19; an elderly 90 year old lady. A very sad time for her family, as they weren't allowed to be in her room with her.
NZ's total of cases is now 1283
New cases 44
Recovered 373 (+56 since the day before, so a greater number than the new cases).

I've been watching TV today! It was 'slow TV', an all-day screening of the ship Akademik Shokalskiy sailing from Bluff at the bottom of our South Island, down to the Antarctic.  It was absolutely magical and like a rest cure for the stress & tension of the past few weeks. I've actually sailed in this vessel too, up in the Sea of Okhotsk in eastern Russia/Siberia, so it all felt very familiar. What a treat!

Many thanks for the super comments and gifts for yesterday's sunrise - they're very much appreciated!
I hope you're all having a wonderful Easter, whatever you're doing, and that the message of Easter is as much a treasure for you as it is for me.
