Darkness

By now it was noon. The whole earth became dark, the darkness lasting three hours—a total blackout. The Temple curtain split right down the middle. Jesus called loudly, “Father, I place my life in your hands!” Then he breathed his last.
Luke 23v44-46 are the verses for today, Good Friday. Feels particularly appropriate at this time to stay with the darkness, death, and suffering. But remembering what the curtain tearing from the top meant - access to hope and life and light.

All of our household took part in a virtual communion service livestreamed by our church. Other than that, working hard on cleaning house, roofing the shed, baking a cake and generally preparing for a certain 4th birthday tomorrow.

Looking forward to Paul coming back tonight, hopefully...

Gratefuls:
- that the darkness ends
- Educated, by Tara Westover, that Kendall recommended, arriving today, can't wait to read it, hopefully begin tomorrow
- a really good catch up with Julia and Tom in Manchester
